Who We Are

Didgeridoo Australia is based in Naarm (Melbourne) and provides First Nations educators to deliver Aboriginal cultural incursions to schools and early learning centres. We aspire to educate, entertain and inspire Australians to understand the culture, heritage, and connection to Country of our First Nations people.

Our highly experienced and passionate educators deliver high quality engaging, interactive incursions & event performances. We provide year-level programs, whole school assembly performances and class-sized specialised programs.

Our Mission is to provide passionate and experienced First Nations educators to deliver inspirational and engaging cultural experiences that reflect understanding and respect of our First Nations people.

What We Need

We are seeking to expand our capacity of educators and broaden our scope of activities to offer to early learning centres and schools.

Our educators work on a contract basis to provide specific cultural activities at the client’s location. This position is responsible for facilitating cultural learning programs focusing on high quality learning outcomes.

We currently deliver activities focusing on music, culture, art and PE. Please visit didgeridooaustralia.com.au to explore the range of programs we currently offer.

Full training and guidance will be provided for our current programs, however, we are also seeking to expand our scope of activities into new creative projects (for example basket weaving, bush foods and craft).

We are an incredibly supportive and collaborative team where great consideration has been given to the onboarding, mentoring and development of the employees.

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander designated position. The successful candidate must be recognised as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person by their community and be able to develop and maintain strong relationships within the local Aboriginal community.

What You’ll Bring

In this position you will bring your knowledge of local and nationwide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and your ability to deliver high-quality programs to a diverse audience. Experience working with school groups and early years learners is a necessary part of this position.

In addition to your great communication and presentation skills you will work well with a team, have good time management and organisational skills as well as a positive attitude.

Ideally you will have a qualification relevant to delivering learning programs in a similar context and a genuine passion for sharing cultural knowledge to diverse audiences.
