ABOUT THE ROLE

The role is to support John, who has a physical disability and uses an electric wheelchair, to provide personal care tasks. John lives with his wife & two cats in Glen Huntly.

• Provide support to an individual who has a physical disability
• Location: Glen Huntly, VIC, 3163
• Shifts times to be discussed - 7 days a week (Flexibility is required):
  
  • 2pm - 8pm

The role is to support John in his home to maintain his health such as Pressure Care Management, Diabetes & a variety of other personal care tasks such as going to the toilet, showering, getting dressed, and light house duties. Manual handling is required with all of these task.

The employer for this role is Disability Support Melbourne PTY LTD which is an entity created to manage John's team of support workers. Please note there is no website for this organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Getting John in and out of bed (slide transfers-lifting machines not used) & dressed
• Maintain personal hygiene e.g. showering & using the toilet

Skills and Experiences

• In-Home based nursing personal care support
• First aid experience
• Be prepared for guided instruction and collaboration during tasks
• On the job training will be provided
