What you’ll do

As a Family Therapist, you will:

• Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for families with various issues, such as conflict, communication, parenting, separation, trauma, grief, and mental health
• Provide evidence-based interventions, such as family systems therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy
• Facilitate group sessions and workshops on topics such as anger management, stress management, and coping skills
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists, to ensure coordinated care and referrals
• Maintain accurate and confidential records and reports
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards and regulations

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field
• A current registration or membership with a relevant professional body, such as the Australian Association of Family Therapy or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia
• Western Australia Police Clearance
• Working with Children Check
• At least 2 years of experience as a Family Therapist or a similar role
• Proficiency in using various therapeutic modalities and techniques
• Excellent communication, rapport-building, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A positive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
