  • Supervisor: The Domestic Family Violence Program Manager reports directly to the Diverse Voices Chief Operating Officer

DFV Program Manager Role Summary:

The DFV Program Manager will oversee the successful development and implementation of multiple programs in a landmark initiative aimed at the LGBTQIA+SB community experiencing intimate partner violence. Diverse Voices are developing new programs tailoring content that recognises the different types of traumas experienced, longstanding stigma and discrimination, likely history of family violence and institutional barriers to most services.

We are beyond proud to be creating Diverse Choices (A LGBTQIA+SB domestic violence behaviour intervention group program) and Diverse Horizons (a supporting recovery care service) program. In this role you will use your knowledge of current theory and practice related to domestic and family violence, using a queer lens and trauma-informed approach to create and deliver a range of activities and programs.

What we are looking for

  1. A lived experience within the LGBTQIASB + community
  2. A passion for the safety of LGBTQIA+SB victim-survivors & compassion for the needs of at-risk LGBTQIA+SB community members
  3. Relevant qualifications in psychology, criminology, social work, education and or related experience
  4. You consider wider organisational objectives when making decisions and going about your work. You model professional and ethical behaviour and are consistent in word and action
  5. experience working within the DV or homelessness sectors

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Obtain a police check from the Australian Federal Police
  2. Conduct a reference check
  3. Hold a Driver’s License
  4. Comply with all law relating to the employment or engagement of Child Related Personal in relation to the Services, including all necessary Working with Children Checks however described. In addition to the initial check in clause 17.2 personnel will be reviewed to ensure they do not become a Disqualified Person

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

Devise and implement all aspects of service agreements pertaining to Diverse Horizons and Diverse Choices. The DFV Program Manager is responsible for providing, documenting and reporting all deliverables during the term of the Agreements.

Priorities

  1. Meeting the contractual obligations including service aims such as: provide LGBTQIA+SB people who have experienced intimate partner violence and or sexual abuse a greater understanding of their experience and enduring trauma and to increase their equity of access to support via GP’s that is trauma informed and queer affirming
  2. Development of policies, procedures and protocols in relation to Diverse Choices and Diverse Horizons ensuring compliance with national and local regulations

Program Leadership and Management

  1. Lead the coordination, development and implementation of Diverse Horizons and Diverse Choices in line with Diverse Voices strategic plan to achieve organisational objectives
  2. Manage and oversee the day-today operations of the project personnel. Ensure a positive team culture aligned with Diverse Voices Values
  3. Establish and maintain relationships with key government officials, stakeholders including Research & Industry partners
  4. Coordinate with C.O.O, Contractors, Diverse Voices Management Committee and Diverse Voices staff to ensure a smooth progress towards program delivery goals &
  5. Appropriate supervision of the program and staff is critically important, ensuring facilitators and the safety worker are effectively managing risks and have access to debriefing following challenging sessions/interactions to reduce vicarious trauma
  6. Conduct effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention in collaboration with H.R

Confidentiality, Information Management Requirements & Meetings

  1. You must not disclose, publish any document, make any public statement or otherwise communicate with the public in relation to the Services without the prior written approval.
  2. You must adhere to the principles guiding data collection, information sharing and monitoring and evaluation
  3. Upon request, the Program Manager will meet to review and discuss all areas of service agreements and programs being developed by Diverse Voices with internal and external shareholders.

Reporting, Surveys & Budgets

  1. In this role there are obligations to prepare and provide Reports internally to the C.O.O and or Management Committee and externally to shareholders. These reports include Ongoing Reports, Financial Reports, Reports regarding the Services and Compliance Reporting.
  2. Deliver culturally appropriate first nations needs of Sistergirl and Brotherboy participants
  3. Fundamentally ensure inclusivity in all considerations of all learning abilities and neuro-inclusive lens
  4. Manage Team budget within scope and within budget demonstrating the highest standard of financial management, including obtaining receipts, keeping logbooks in relation to motor vehicles, responsible use of Funds subject to clause 13.1(c)
