The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is an independent statutory office accountable to the Victorian Parliament which has been established to protect the rights and enhance the position of people with disabilities in Victoria. This position is part of the Intake team, which includes the team leader, advocate guardians and another guardianship support officer. It is part of the advocate guardian program.
The Guardianship Support Officer (GSO) assists in the general running of the intake team through the triaging of new orders, responding to enquiries about new orders and undertaking secondary referrals for information or to progress applications.
