About the Role:

The Intermediary Program is a key component of the Victim Service Innovation in Criminal Justice portfolio within VSSR. The Intermediary Program uses skilled communication specialists (Intermediaries) to assist criminal justice system stakeholders to meet the communication needs of eligible witnesses giving evidence in police interviews and during court proceedings. In undertaking this role, the Intermediary will utilise their understanding of the key issues faced by victims of crime to engage with a board range of witnesses in ways that promote their wellbeing and reduces the trauma they may experience.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Contributing to a positive work culture with colleagues, managers and stakeholders, including with staff from the Child and Youth Witness Service (CYWS) and the Victims and Witness Assistance Service (VWAS).
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of effective practices and procedures for the program.
  • Working in ways that support your own wellbeing, the wellbeing of the team, and the wellbeing of colleagues in other teams we work closely with.
