As a Residential Care Worker you will be responsible for working as a member of a team to achieve best outcomes for children and young people and providing group and individual therapeutic residential care to children and young people. Conditions

Prospective applicants must:

  • Work a rotating roster, including weekends and evenings.
  • Successfully pass a satisfactory medical and functional capacity examination based on the physical and psychological demands of the role.
  • Obtain a satisfactory Working with Children Check
  • Hold a Current accredited certificate in ‘Provide First Aid’
  • Possess a current Western Australian 'C' or 'C-A' Class Driver’s Licence or equivalent, and have the ability to travel in response to organisational needs.

  • Question 2: Please outline your understanding of therapeutic group home care of children, including Aboriginal and culturally diverse children, who have experienced trauma due to inadequate care and/or abuse. What is your understanding of the challenges the children may evidence? (Criteria 1)
  • Question 3: Tell the Panel about a time(s) where you have worked with a child or young person to help them build on life skills and develop recreational activities to enhance self-worth. (Criteria 2)
  • Question 4: Please outline your ability to work therapeutically as a team member. (Criteria 3)
  • Question 5: Please describe how you would reflect on practice, and evidence resilience as a team member. (Criteria 3)
