This is a role where you can impact the lives of young people! You will work collaboratively as part of a larger care team to understand what is happening in a young persons life, and how best to help. Everything you do is in the best interest of the young person.

Your Work

You will provide outcome focused support to young people in out of home care, developing positive working relationships with various stakeholders that form part of the young person’s care team.

A day in the role of a youth worker could look like this:

  • Undertake client contact and support in conjunction with the young person’s Child safety Officer and the transition to Independence Program
  • Transporting children/young persons to and from access visits, appointments, school, and recreational activities
  • Participate in care planning to facilitate empowerment and individual support of young person.
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate case notes of activities undertaken and ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people you may be working with.
