The Role

In this role, we expect you to perform high-level technical reviews, IT strategy development, business requirements development, high-level technical solution designs and analysis, report writing and conduct presentations. The role includes significant client liaison, stakeholder engagement, meeting with clients and potential workshop facilitation. You will also be required to develop technical solutions for our clients, mostly NFP, and recommend solutions that leverage common, cost effective and typically cloud based technologies.

Package: $90-100k p.a. pro-rata plus Super + 5 Weeks leave

About you

We are looking for a skilled and experienced person with drive and commitment, who wants a rewarding career in IT consulting, and has the potential to expand their role with the growth of our business. You may have come from an existing IT consultancy role or be considering moving from IT Management to a consulting role. You have high-level technical skills and a substantial background in applying technology to deliver business outcomes. You value clarity of thought, communication, and process, and focus on outcomes. You demonstrate advanced organisational and communications skills to ensure appropriate delivery in a timely and succinct manner.

Your background will include working knowledge and understanding of Business Applications, ICT Infrastructure, Security and IT Governance Framework.

You will be an integral part of the IT consulting team, responsible for the generation and delivery of projects to our client base, and for contributing technical and strategic IT knowledge to other teams within Dog and Bone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients and undertake business requirements capture, review and development.
  • Undertake gap analysis and review of clients’ existing systems and infrastructure, and of proposed solutions.
  • Undertake solutions design, specification and evaluation.
  • Design desired future IT state, IT roadmaps and identify work required to get from current to desired future state.
  • Conduct RFP processes, including developing RFP documentation, MSP vendor briefings and liaison, prepare report and recommendations, and present to client.
  • Coordinate and manage projects (e.g., IT infrastructure and service implementations, assist with technical aspects of WAN implementations).

Key Selection Criteria

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in IT in the Australian corporate or not-for-profit environment
  • Understands a broad range of technologies and IT services that support an organisation’s strategies and workforce, and how they work together to deliver value to an organisation
  • Excellent communication skills in report writing and presentation
  • Demonstrated capability in strategy and technical solution design
  • A passion for supporting, the NFP sector

Also highly regarded:

  • Demonstrated capability with any of the following: project management, technology service tendering (RFP processes), and contract and service delivery evaluation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional learning and development.
  • Has demonstrated experience with at several of the following: infrastructure delivery (on-premises, co-lo, virtualisation, IaaS), Microsoft server and cloud offerings, networking (MPLS and SD-WAN), desktop and application delivery, mobile computing, information security, and strategies for transitioning from on-premises to cloud computing services.
  • Experience in procurement processes for technology solutions or IT managed service providers
  • Experience working with or in the NFP sector.
