The Dogs' Refuge Home is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue, care and re-homing of dogs. Established in 1935, it is one of the oldest animal welfare agencies in Australia. Our activities are motivated by the fundamental understanding that dogs are entitled to the same love and respect that they unconditionally give to us.
Our kennels located in Shenton Park are capable of housing up to 150 dogs. We have a pro-life policy, which ensures that no dog will be euthanised on economic grounds. Every year we take in many hundreds of dogs that have been abused, neglected or simply no longer wanted.
Reporting to the GM, the Operations Manager will contribute to the Dogs' Refuge Home (DRH) mission by enhancing animal welfare outcomes through the effective leadership and management of the DRH's training, foster care, clinic and animal care attendant service functions.
As a senior leader, you will model the values of the Dogs' Refuge Home and contribute to developing a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Leading a diverse small team, this position requires sound management skills to ensure the dogs in our care are looked after very well during the process of finding them a loving home. We are ideally seeking someone with experience working with animals in a shelter or rescue environment with a sound understanding of dog behaviour, training and welfare.
The successful candidate will enjoy working within a supportive environment and join a dedicated team of staff and volunteers along with access to some wonderful doggies anytime of the day. If this sounds like the perfect job for you then please forward your resume via the apply function. Phone enquiries to Mike Underwood on 0422 922 467.
