Do it with Purpose Occupational Therapy is an NDIS registered leading community-based organisation providing comprehensive mental health allied health support to individuals across the SEQ region. As a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals living with mental health conditions to improve their quality of life and enhance their independence. Your primary focus will be on providing therapeutic interventions within the NDIS framework, working closely with clients and their support networks to develop personalised treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs and goals of clients
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessed needs
  • Undertake routine occupational therapy interventions within a care coordination context utilising well established clinical protocols, including current OT models of practice and a recovery framework.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support networks to ensure holistic care
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Educate clients and their families on strategies to enhance well-being and promote self-care

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Previous experience working with individuals with mental health conditions
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS framework and associated documentation (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Drivers' license and access to a vehicle (as you will work remotely and meet with people in the community)
  • A great sense of humour (preferred)
