Disability Rights Advocacy Service Incorporated (DRAS) is part of the national network of Disability Advocacy Services funded by the Australian government. DRAS provides individual and systemic advocacy for people with disabilities, their families and their carers.
The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of a Senior Advocate to provide high quality disability advocacy and NDIS Appeals related services to people living in designated areas within the Greater Adelaide region.
The Disability Advocate will be employed 26.6 hours per week on a fixed term contract to the end of December 2017.
This position would ideally suit people pursuing a career in advocacy, law, disability or community services.
The successful applicant is required to satisfactorily complete a DCSI Vulnerable Persons Screening and National Criminal History Record Check prior to being employed. Applicants will also be required to hold current First Aid and Child Safe Environments certificates.
Must hold a valid South Australian drivers licence (Class C) and have use of own car.
Remuneration: The position is covered by the SCHCADS Award. Wages are $28.03 per hour. Salary package available.
