Dymocks Children's Charities is an Australian not-for-profit (NFP) organisation. We provide high quality books to schools, education providers and partners in priority areas, in order to improve children's literacy outcomes. Through our unique literacy support programs such as Book Bank, Duck Library and Library Regenerations, we cultivate and inspire a love for books and reading in children from an early age. Our purpose is to change kids' lives – one book at a time!
The Role
As the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing all operations, programs and strategic initiatives of the Dymocks Children’s Charities. Utilising your high-level verbal and written communication skills, you will actively build upon our existing relationships, whilst forming new relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will;
- Develop and implement the overall strategy for Dymocks Children’s Charities
- Manage all financials, including the P&L, balance sheet, budgetary forecasts and salary spend
- Drive the income performance through the fundraising team
- Build, maintain and leverage corporate relationships with suppliers to improve commercial terms
- Continually work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop new fundraising ventures at a high level
- Oversee the execution of all program delivery targets
- Report and present to the Board quarterly
- Ensure that programs are delivered on time and to budget with opportunities for positive PR taken
- Strongly and positively advocate for Dymocks Children’s Charities and early childhood literacy in line with our purpose
- Engage with the Dymocks store network and Franchise Owners in order to improve income streams and drive new opportunities
- Maintain Dymocks Children’s Charities as an integral part of the Dymocks brand
- Seek out and manage relationships with government departments and major corporate / NFP partners
The Successful Applicant
- Previous experience managing an NFP preferred but not essential
- Strong Fundraising experience preferred
- Previous experience executing and driving a high growth agenda
- Passion for social justice and helping kids in need
- Ability to balance strategic and operational initiatives
- High degree of commercial and business acumen
