The Role

To source and facilitate successful funding and grant applications for the provision of Eat Up Australia’s school food relief programs. This permanent part-time (0.6 EFT) role contributes significantly to securing the funding needed to support the growth and sustainability of Eat Up’s programs. You will work within the funding team with one other Grant Writer and report directly to the head of funding and marketing who together with the CEO will provide you with support regarding the strategy for applications as determined by program growth and priorities.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a passionate and supportive team working to end classroom hunger. Working from home in any location within Australia, there is flexibility regarding work days (mon-fri) and the length of work day (provided you meet required hours).

Key Responsibilities

The following outlines the key responsibilities of the position, but is not all-encompassing:

  • Undertake grant application process including:
    • Identification of available grants, philanthropic trusts, sponsorships and other sources of funding such as government funding opportunities
    • Communication with funders to determine eligibility where required
    • Complete and manage grant applications and funding submissions including the creation and submission of EOIs, funding proposals and grant submissions
    • Completion of acquittals and donor updates
  • Support the Head of Funding and Marketing in writing Corporate Partnership proposals and MOUs
  • Preparing copy for Funder acknowledgements, to be used on social media posts and impact summaries
  • Capture and monitor all external funding applied for and received through maintaining donor and funding database - Salesforce
  • Ensure that agreements, milestone reporting and acquittals are finalised in a timely manner, working with the wider team to access and collate photos and video footage required for donor updates and acquittals

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (health, public health, nutrition) and/or substantial grants experience.
  • Significant experience and knowledge of philanthropic fundraising in the NFP space.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, preparing and submitting a broad range of competitive grant submissions.
  • Demonstrated experience in generating significant funds within a not-for-profit environment.
  • High level copywriting and proof-reading skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support the funding relationships.
  • Highly organised and self-driven.
  • Enjoy working as part of a diverse and passionate team.
  • Prior experience securing government funding will be highly regarded.
  • CRM/ Salesforce experience preferred but not essential.
