About the role
As Manager, Consumer Advocacy, you will:
- Drive strategic advocacy by researching emerging issues, developing policy positions and contributing bold ideas that advance ECA’s seven consumer-centred targets (equity, value, agency, ownership, control, justice, representation).
- Deliver projects – manage or contribute to key advocacy projects on time, on budget and with measurable impact.
- Engage stakeholders – build relationships with governments, market bodies, industry and community organisations to strengthen consumer outcomes.
- Represent ECA in consultations, meetings and events, clearly communicating consumer interests and ECA’s positions.
- Collaborate internally to grow a high-performance culture that values innovation and knowledge sharing.
Who you are
- Critical thinker with a passion for consumer rights, public policy and the energy transition.
- Strong in research and communication, able to distil complex information for diverse audiences.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Skilled at building relationships, gaining consensus and negotiating practical solutions.
Qualifications & experience
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, Social Sciences or related field.
- Experience in policy, advocacy or regulation (energy sector knowledge is a plus, but a commitment to consumer advocacy is essential).
- Project management and stakeholder engagement experience desirable.
