As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work closely with individuals living with mental health conditions to provide practical and emotional support. Your role will include supporting clients with daily tasks, assisting with recovery goals, and providing encouragement to help them lead more independent and meaningful lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer emotional and practical support to individuals experiencing mental health issues.
- Assist clients with developing and maintaining daily living skills, including budgeting, personal care, and household management.
- Encourage and support clients in setting and achieving personal goals related to their mental health recovery.
- Monitor client progress and provide feedback to wider support team, ensuring their well-being and safety.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and progress.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and family members.
- Promote independence, empowerment, and positive coping strategies.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in mental health support or a related field is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with clients.
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- An understanding of mental health conditions and a commitment to promoting recovery.
- Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment.
- A relevant qualification in mental health, social care, or a related field.
