ABOUT the ORGANISATION

EcoMarines Foundation is a Queensland based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to delivering eco-education programs in early learning centres, primary and secondary schools with the purpose of empowering students to become environmental leaders. EcoMarines also provides corporate programs and support to commercial organisations developing sustainability models.

Established in 2014, EcoMarines has been fostering leadership and pro-environmental behaviours and actions through student-led environmental projects that support the protection of local waterways, marine and terrestrial wildlife, and their ecosystems.

EcoMarines Foundation works closely with stakeholders including the Department of Environment, city councils and commercial organisations. Our dedicated team have delivered the EcoMarines program to more than 250 schools, helping to create a community of environmental leaders.

ABOUT YOU

The Program Coordinator is a strategic role focused on service delivery, both in person through visits to schools and via online mediums. The role actively engages with students, teachers and school administration.

The position contributes to the development and maintenance of the relationship between EcoMarines, schools and our partners and sponsors, meeting the delivery of contractual obligations and tailored benefits to fulfil agreements, including day-to-day communications.

The role is also tasked with recruiting new schools to the program and meeting funding requirements and KPIs.

This is an entry level role that would be great for anyone with an attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and time-management skills! Bonus points for caring about environment and community.

KEY RESPONSIBiLITIES

• Coordination and delivery of the EcoMarines program
• Recruitment of the new schools to the program
• Record and maintain program data
• Coordinate and assist with events
• Meet requirements for service delivery as detailed by funding agreements

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Excellent verbal, presentation, and writing skills, with exceptional stakeholder communication skills
• Experience and demonstrated ability to deliver programs using a range of strategies and technologies
• Tertiary level qualification/s in teaching or environmental science and sustainability are desirable
• A sincere interest in working with children, youth, and the community
• A commitment to environmental outcomes and helping young people to achieve those outcomes
• Current Queensland Driver’s License and own vehicle
• A current Blue Card
