Advance evidence-based policy solutions
AERO is currently looking for two senior policy analysts for the Engagement Division at AERO. The Engagement Division works with partners (systems, sectors and practitioners) to prioritise, disseminate and implement AERO’s research. This is achieved through establishing and managing project advisory groups, direct engagement with jurisdictions and peak organisations, and tailoring of project products for dissemination. The team is currently looking for senior policy analysts for projects focused on school education.
Senior Policy Analyst (Engagement)
The Senior Policy Analyst (Engagement) supports AERO’s project teams to maximise stakeholder engagement in, and uptake of, AERO’s work, across a subset of AERO’s projects. Key tasks will include developing a tailored engagement strategy for each project within the lead’s responsibility, supporting and conducting engagement with stakeholders on those projects, and negotiating pathways to increase stakeholder uptake of AERO’s resources and recommendations.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent understanding of the Australian education landscape and policy frameworks. This may be experience gained through working in policy settings and/or through leadership positions in schools.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively maintain productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners and researchers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to create compelling narratives for diverse audiences. This may be experience gained through developing evidence-based resources for policymakers or practitioners.
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching practice, preferably gained through classroom experience or through extensive experience working with practitioners.
- Experience in collaborating with a team to deliver complex, high-quality products under tight timelines with competing priorities.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to maximise the influence of AERO’s research on system programs and policies.
- Work directly with key stakeholders, particularly education systems, seeking to embed the evidence generated in AERO’s projects into their policies, programs or professional learning.
- Prepare, convene and facilitate workshops for stakeholders, and implement effective follow-up to maximise stakeholder engagement and dissemination of AERO’s work.
- Prepare advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders that conveys complex concepts and information on education topics in an appropriate format and manner.
- Supervise team members as required, ensuring deliverables are on time and to a high standard.
- Advise and support other AERO teams as required, with a particular focus on ensuring effective incorporation of AERO’s strategic policy agenda in their work
