- This is a full time position based in our Perth Head Office
Summary of Duties
- Oversee the financial and HR activities of Earbus Foundation.
- Responsible for the accounting functions required to provide accurate and timely information on the financial status of Earbus to CEO.
- Organise and develop the financial processes, manage the small finance team, provide direction and training as required.
- Oversee Human Resources activity. Co-ordinate staff recruitment and induction, facilitate on-gong staff training and report on general staff well-being.
- Oversee IT systems by acting as the liaison with our external IT provider
- Assume a senior management and leadership role in the Earbus Leadership Team
Key Activity Areas
Financial Management
- Manage the day-to-day accounting functions and supervise small finance team - allocate tasks and duties accordingly
- Deliver financial activity reports to CEO on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required – P&L, Balance Sheet, Cost Centre updates, Budget tracking and Cash Flow
- Support external financial audits and liaise with Audit Partner
- Ensure a clear and transparent accountability and probity trail is in place for all financial transactions
- Ensure internal control monitoring systems are current, followed and fit for purpose – alert CEO immediately if risks are identified and reportable
- Work with CEO in development of budgets
- Prepare the monthly payroll list and payments for salaries including superannuation and salary packaging transfers (external provider)
- Prepare weekly payment list for suppliers in accordance with all applicable regulations and reporting requirements.
Human Resources Management
- Ensure that timely and efficient recruitment procedures for staff are implemented and followed
- Monitor that salaries and benefits for staff meet the requirements of local HR legislation and are within budget
- Ensure that the correct procedures are followed on disciplinary action and grievance procedures
- Identify training needs for all staff and source in-house and external training opportunities as appropriate, working within budgetary and operational constraints and maintain training records
- Provide line managers with any necessary training, advice, mentoring and coaching on performance management or any other relevant areas of HR management or procedures for their teams and ensure records are kept to meet compliance requirements
IT Management
- Be the staff contact point for logging IT queries or issues
- Liaise with external IT provider, currently IQPC
- Action any internal back-ups as required
Qualifications
- Qualifications in MYOB (Xero also desirable)
- HR qualification or experience – familiarity with online HR software an advantage
- Registered BAS Agent preferred
- Triple vaccinated and maintain vaccination compliance as required
- National Police Clearance and Working with Children Card
Experience / Competencies
- 2 years’ experience in a similar or relevant position
- Experience with MYOB or similar financial software package essential
- Strong organisational skills and the capacity to analyse and prioritise needs
- Able to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels, to meet regular deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Good inter-personal and conflict resolution, negotiating skills and strong organisational and departmental leadership
- Must align with and demonstrate day-to-day living of Earbus core values
- Experience in managing IT staff will be viewed favourably but is not essential
- Experience with Better HR (previously Workforce Guardian) cloud-based HR software or similar will be viewed favourably but is not essential
