At Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network, we focus on improving the health and wellbeing of the people who live and work in Sydney, from East to South and the Inner West. Primary health refers to the healthcare provided in the community, such as a local doctor, pharmacist or psychologist. We provide support and training to these health professionals. We help them to connect community members to other services so that everyone involved in a person’s care can know how best to look after their health.

PHNs are not-for-profit organisations. We receive money from the government to provide health services that are right for the people in this area. We also work with hospitals, specialists, aged care facilities and others to improve people’s experience when needing healthcare. We work to make it easier for people to get the best care and support when and where they need it to achieve our vision of healthy and thriving communities

About the job

The Digital Health and Quality Improvement Program Officer is responsible for providing support to health professionals across the Central and Eastern Sydney PHN (CESPHN) region, supporting various digital health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake work on digital health and quality improvement initiatives such as My Health Record, digital health Practice Incentive Payments, and data quality improvement (QI) activities.
  • Provide client visits, meetings, email and telephone support to healthcare professionals and their staff – including medical specialists, general practices, allied health professionals, RACHs, universities and non-government organisations on digital health and QI related activities.
  • Undertake work on connecting healthcare providers to MyMedicare including activities related to Practice Incentive Program (PIPs), MBS items and Chronic Disease Management (CDM) items.
  • Develop and implement targeted, appropriate, and sustainable educational activities to address digital health and quality improvement for healthcare providers.

Selection criteria – essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, health promotion and/or relevant experience in the digital health/practice management field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, Word, Database, SharePoint etc., and the willingness to learn clinical software used by health care providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, set project goals, prioritise tasks and troubleshoot in order to achieve key objectives within designated timeframes.
  • Ability to build, develop and sustain positive partnerships and productive working relationships with all levels of stakeholders, including individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience providing training and support to health care professionals and community members.
  • High level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, including excellent phone manner.
  • Access to a motor vehicle and possession of a current NSW drivers’ licence.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Selection criteria - desirable

  • An understanding of the primary health care environment and experience in communicating with health care professionals and consumers within CESPHN boundaries
  • Ability and willingness to facilitate educational workshops and develop quality education resources.
