Who we are

Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) is the peak body representing over 1350 non-profit early childhood services primarily in Victoria.

Our highly skilled and friendly team of 25 staff and consultants supports members with advocacy to government regarding funding and policy, advice and support on HR, IR, operations, people leadership and a host of other critical issues in running kindergartens and long day care services.

With Victoria’s groundbreaking Free Kinder and Best Start, Best Life reforms, ELAA plays a key role in ensuring universal access to quality early childhood education and care for every 3- and 4-year-old, regardless of their life circumstances.

Who you are

With roughly 3-5 years working in marketing, communications and/or client facing roles, you will bring a toolkit of skills spanning:

  • Phone and email-based customer service
  • Strong proficiency in creating, designing and scheduling engaging visual and text content across ELAA’s digital platforms

You will bring a demonstrated interest in the early childhood education and care sector and a strong work ethic, a planning and delivery orientation, and the ability to work cohesively in a highly collaborative, small team.

The role

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Digital marketing: 

  • create, design and schedule engaging visual content across ELAA’s digital platforms: ELAA’s website and socials (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)  
  • monitor social media channels and engage with audience by responding promptly to comments, messages, and reviews across digital channels to foster stronger connections 
  • analyse social media performance metrics and provide actionable insights to optimise strategies
  • maintain and update the ELAA website 
  • support the coordination of member communication and engagement, including event planning and content writing/updates. 

Member engagement: 

  • daily member engagement support, including answering questions from prospective and current members over the phone and email 
  • lead the annual membership renewal process and end-to-end processing of new members throughout the year 
  • ensure information, workflows and processes are up to date in the CRM and integrated software 
  • run and create CRM reports as required 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and social media management 
  • Creative flair in design and digital content with strong experience using Canva, the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Premier Pro preferred) and social media management software (e.g. Hootsuite) experience 
  • Experience with CRM databases (SugarCRM or similar cloud-based software), and marketing and website platforms (e.g. Mailchimp and Laravel or similar) 
  • Advanced Microsoft and computer skills and an open mind to learn new skill on the job 
  • Excellent attention to detail: aiming for published content is free of errors (spelling, grammar, and formatting) and aligns with brand guidelines 
  • Effective communications skills and a team player: able to communicate ideas and feedback with a wide range of audience effectively and professionally 
  • Completing a Working With Children Check is a requirement of all employees at ELAA.

Desirable experience for this role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field 
  • Experience in video editing 
  • Experience working in NFP, charity or similar community-based organisations. 
  • Role will commence in April 2025.
