The Electric Vehicle Council is the national body representing the electric vehicle industry in Australia.

Our mission is to accelerate the electrification of transport for a sustainable and prosperous Australia. Our members are companies that build, power, and support electric vehicles.

We are a not-for-profit member-based association based in Sydney, with staff in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth operating nationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The key objectives for this role:

• Lead a highly motivated team to solve challenges at the intersection of transportation and electrification.
• Develop and advocate positions that will accelerate EV uptake in Australia, ensuring that:
  • Charging infrastructure works for the drivers
  • The energy system supports EVs and vice versa
  • The built environment supports EV charging at home and at work
  • Energy policy direction supports good consumer outcomes.
• Advocate for the interests of the EV industry at all layers of government, contributing to standards, codes, regulations, legislation, and energy policy.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Exceptional team leadership, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• At least 3 years domain specific technical and commercial experience.
• The drive and self-management required to lead in a small, resourceful, and fast-moving team.
• Proven expertise in collaborating in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in translating technical and commercial expertise into policy or regulatory outcomes

WORKING TOGETHER

Salary range: $150-$180k per annum (pro-rata) + superannuation, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Based in Brunswick in Melbourne, this role may suit candidates seeking full-time or permanent part-time work (minimum 0.8 FTE).
