About Elizabeth Morgan House

Elizabeth Morgan House Aboriginal Women’s Services Inc (EMHAWS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation and have been in operation since 1976. EMHAWS takes direction and works consultatively with the community in all aspects of our services and have providing specialist family violence services for Victorian Aboriginal women and their children for over 40 years.

EMHAWS provide specialist Family Violence services, and central to our work and business is the aim to provide advocacy and support for the empowerment of Aboriginal women, children, young people and the wider community.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to join our team and support our Executive Team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the smooth running of daily operations by providing administrative support, managing schedules, and coordinating communications. The Executive Assistant will work closely with the senior leadership team, assisting in a range of strategic and operational tasks to help drive our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Team, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements.
  • Prepare and review internal and external communications, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Organize and coordinate executive meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing operational reports.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Support project management initiatives alongside the Executive Team.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering relationships with community organizations and partners.
  • Oversee office logistics, including supplies, events, and general administrative coordination.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, or similar role (experience in the not-for-profit sector is highly regarded).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, aligned with EMHAWS’s mission and values.
  • Knowledge of the social services sector, particularly in family violence and Aboriginal communities, is an advantage.
