Are you concerned about climate change and want to use your legal skills to advocate and litigate for climate justice?

If you are a lawyer with civil litigation or complex legal campaigning skills, as well as capability working with clients experiencing disadvantage and exclusion, this is your unique opportunity to make an important difference in mitigating the climate crisis and achieving climate justice. We are seeking a senior lawyer (5+ years PAE) or lawyer (3+ years PAE) to work with us on climate litigation, legal research and legal advocacy, particularly as part of our Climate Justice Legal Project. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ people and people with a disability are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Climate Justice Legal Project is a unique collaborative project, in partnership with the Federation of Community Legal Centres and the Climate Council, to support communities in Victoria who are on the frontline experiencing climate impacts.

The position is ongoing and full time or 0.8FTE.

You must be admitted to practice in Australia. We require at least five years (for senior lawyer position) or three years (for lawyer position) of experience working on litigation or legal campaigning in Australia in an area of public/administrative law (including human rights law).
