Our client Barwon Community Legal Service is a community legal centre that provides free legal information, advice, and casework to members of the local community, with a culture of supportiveness, positive change, integrity and empathy. The successful applicant will be experienced in leadership and team management, have financial acumen and a high level of problem solving and communication skills. They currently have a full-time or part-time opportunity for an Operations Manager. This role requires strategic thinking, people management, and strong leadership skills.
What you will do:
The Operations Manager will lead and oversee the organisation's operational functions, including Finance, ICT, HR, Administration, and Office Management. This role is a key part of the leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role within a small organisation and demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
This role is responsible for:
- Contributing to organisational strategy, supporting team development, leading change management initiatives, and engaging with stakeholders, staff, and the board.
- Supervising office facilities, procurement, vendor management, and workplace safety, ensuring an effective and well-maintained work environment.
- Management of financial operations, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with legal and governance standards, ensuring financial sustainability and risk management.
- Overseeing IT infrastructure, data security, and outsourced IT services to support operational efficiency and compliance.
- Coordinating HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, policy development, and staff training, while ensuring smooth office operations and document management.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Proven experience in an operations management role within a small organisation.
