Project Manager – Alice Springs

EON Foundation is excited to invite applications for the position of Project Manager working across two new and exciting community projects in Alice Springs and the surrounds. Position Overview:

As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering EON’s Thriving Communities Program. This involves planning, planting, and maintaining edible gardens, as well as providing practical lessons on gardening, cooking, and nutrition. With a special emphasis on delivering these classes to school children, the aim is to empower schools and communities to establish sustainable sources of fresh, healthy food and develop skills for maintaining gardens and promoting good nutrition.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be based in Alice Springs, NT, working one week at a school located in Alice Springs, and the following week at a remote community 4.5 hours drive from Alice Springs (3-4 nights each stay).

Key Details:

• Full-time (76 hours per fortnight), occasional out-of-hours work for stakeholder engagement events.
• Fixed-term contract until December 31, 2024, with a possibility of extension
• $86,261 p.a. plus superannuation, with salary packaging options up to $18,549 p.a. tax-free
• 6 weeks annual leave
• Generous Travel Allowance and Accommodation provided during community stays
• Travel time within contracted work hours
• Based in Alice Springs with fortnightly travel to community (up to 4 nights a fortnight)
• Fully maintained work vehicle provided.

Project Managers in our team dedicate significant time within the community to firmly establish the program and engage with community.

Gardening and Cooking Enthusiasts Wanted!

We are seeking individuals with existing knowledge or a strong willingness to learn about sustainable gardening practices. Your role will include establishing and maintaining community gardens and teaching community members how to grow edible food. If you have a passion for healthy cooking and are willing to share your knowledge, we want to hear from you.

Handle Complexity in Diverse Environments:

Can you navigate complex situations in diverse Aboriginal communities in the NT? The successful candidate will demonstrate sensitivity, adaptability, and a deep understanding of cultural diversity to engage respectfully with community members.
