The Role

Equity Works have a position available for a Full-time Service Manager to join our Brookes Street Hub. From this hub we deliver Short Term Accommodation and Community Based supports to over 60 clients who use their NDIS funding to access services. This is a new position as the organisation restructures to enable growth. The purpose of this role is to provide effective leadership, management and support in the development and implementation of high-quality services delivered from the Brookes St Hub. Initially your role will focus on the Brookes St services, and you will be supported in this role by a Team Leader, Administrative Support, and a team of Lifestyle Facilitators.

An experienced leadership team is currently in place who will provide significant support to you in your new role.

Job Location

You will be based on the Sunshine Coast in a central location. Our current base for this role is Nambour. Local travel required. Fleet vehicles are available for work purposes, but helpful if you have access to your own as well for busy times. A mobile phone and laptop are provided for work purposes.

We have onsite parking when you are located at the office.

Working from home can be available on a limited basis, however, this role requires you to be present with your team onsite most of the time to achieve effective management.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has a minimum 4 years’ experience in a supervisory role with relevant formal qualifications to a minimum of Diploma level.

A degree (Disability/Social Work/Psychology/ or similar) will be highly regarded for this position.

Industry experience and knowledge is a must.

In addition, you must have:

  • A commitment to Person Centred practices, including Person Centred Active Support
  • A comprehensive understanding of the NDIS practice standards
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check
  • Ability to maintain current First Aid, CPR
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Australian Driver's Licence and own car with comprehensive insurance (fleet vehicles are available for work travel)
  • Preparedness to participate in an after hours On Call roster
  • An ability to undertake physical activities associated with direct support of clients who have a range of support needs
  • It is essential that you have a preparedness to adhere to Public Health Directions issued by the Queensland Government and enforceable for Equity Works Assoc. Inc.

The person we are looking for will

  1. Oversee and manage a Team Leader, a team of Lifestyle Facilitators and Administrative support staff. Additional supervision responsibilities will grow over time.
  2. Demonstrate strong organisational skills with proven ability to develop processes to meet service goals and enhance person centred practice.
  3. Identify areas of improvement and embed change initiatives within scope of operations.
  4. Coordinate and oversee client referrals, staff matching, and onboarding clients.
  5. Lead the recruitment and development of a staff team who are capable and committed to high quality services.
  6. Keep the team fully informed of the contents of the NDIS system, requirements and apply it to daily operations, in line with NDIS Commission guidelines.
  7. Work with clients, family/carers, and other professionals to support the client's individual goals.
