Our Youth Programs aim to provide a stimulating and relevant environment, which will encourage children, youth from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds to participate in after-school and weekend sport, art and leadership programs and activities. Edmund Rice Centre WA (ERCWA) are seeking motivated Youth Program Assistants to work on our Sports Programs.

ERCWA provide services in various locations across the Perth Metro Area including Mirrabooka, Koondoola and Butler. The sessions run Monday to Friday from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with coordinators to develop and execute arts and leadership activities for young people.
  • Collect permission forms from participants
  • Create new and fun game sense activities.
  • Assist to develop session plan based on ERCWA coaching principles – game sense with the aim of producing talented, thinking, and creative TEAM players.
  • Collect registration details.
  • Take photos and videos.
  • Support coordinator/volunteers to deliver program and report incidents.
  • Carry pack with valuables and information.

Essential

  1. Have (or be willing to obtain) a Working with Children Check.
  2. Have (or be willing to obtain) a National Police Clearance Check.
  3. Have a current driver's license and vehicle.
  4. Australian working rights

Desirable 

  1. A Degree, Diploma, Certificate, or approved equivalent qualifications.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  1. Have a passion for community service and working to develop young people to their full potential and the promotion of healthy lifestyles among youth, including the ability to establish good mentoring relationships.
  2. Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities including an understanding of issues faced by these communities.
  3. Good time management and organisation skills.
  4. Basic IT skills
