About us

EthicalJobs.com.au is working to change the world, one job at a time.

We bridge the gap between Australians who want to “work for a better world” and the thousands of not-for-profit organisations that tirelessly strive to create that better world.

As a successful for-profit social enterprise and one of Australia’s top job-search sites for the not-for-profit sector and beyond, we support the work of more than 8,000 organisations around the country, and have a passionate community of 380,000+ unique users visiting the site each month.

We also run the annual Not-For-Profit People Conference. Now in its eighth year, it’s Australia’s largest event focused on how to attract, manage, train and retain the best people for the NFP sector, attracting ~500 attendees.

About the Not-For-Profit People Conference

This is our eighth time putting on the Not-For-Profit People Conference. Over two days, we bring together around 500 leaders, managers, human resources professionals and volunteer managers from across the not-for-profit sector to network and share best practices.

To get a sense of the event you can check out the highlights from our last conference here.

About the role

We’re looking for 10 events staff to work as on-site support at next year’s Not-For-Profit People Conference, which will take place on 20-21 February at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

You’ll get to:

  • Welcome and register conference attendees
  • Show attendees to seating and around the venue
  • Assist attendees during break times
  • Assist with the running of sessions (i.e. running microphones between speakers & attendees during Q&A during or at end of session, managing flow of attendees into and out of session rooms)

This is an opportunity to gain valuable event experience, develop skills at a live conference, and learn more about the NFP sector in Australia.

About you

You’re a passionate, confident and friendly person with previous experience working at events.

You demonstrate professionalism and are confident liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, from venue staffing to conference delegates.

You’re reliable, like to take initiative, and you’ve got a ‘can do’ attitude.

You must be available to attend:

  • An event briefing and help with satchel preparation on Wednesday, 15 February from 2pm – 4pm at our Collingwood office
  • The event on Monday, 20 February (6.30am-4.30pm) and Tuesday, 21 February (7:00am-4pm). Lunch and break time meals and refreshments will be provided on both days. These timings include your start of day briefing.
