EthicalJobs.com.au is working to change the world, one job at a time.
We bridge the gap between Australians who want to “work for a better world” and the thousands of for-purpose organisations that tirelessly strive to create that better world.
As a successful, for-profit social enterprise and one of Australia’s top job-search sites for the not-for-profit sector and beyond, we support the work of more than 9,000 for-purpose organisations around the country, and have a passionate community of 300,000+ unique users visiting the site each month.
We also make regular donations to small organisations that are having a big social or environmental impact across Australia – we’ve donated over $1.8 million since 2009, and we’ve catalysed over $2 million in donations from the community on top of that.
We’ve consistently grown our overall impact for 15 years since we launched in 2009.
You’ll be joining a dedicated, passionate and successful team of 22 people who share a vision of a more equitable, just and sustainable world.
We work partly remotely, but you have the option to work from our spacious office in Collingwood which has loads of natural light, high ceilings, standing desks, a large outdoor deck for lunch in the sun and drinks after work, and great food and coffee just around the corner.
Working as part of our 7-person Customer Service team (the “engine room” of EthicalJobs.com.au) you’ll be responsible for proofing, editing and approving hundreds of jobs for for-purpose employers every week, engaging with our clients by phone and email, and helping clients have the best experience recruiting staff and volunteers through our platform.
In this role you’ll be:
This is a great opportunity to gain an intimate knowledge of Australia’s not-for-profit and social enterprise sectors, and the thousands of organisations that are working for a better world.
You’re friendly, fun and work well as part of a team.
You are resilient with a can-do, positive attitude.
You genuinely enjoy editing and proofing text all day every day, and you’re also an exceptional communicator both on the screen and on the phone.
You take pleasure in getting through your “To Do” list every day, and above all you’re absolutely meticulous with details.
Our office can sometimes be a busy, demanding place so you’re someone who thrives in that kind of environment and can easily work at high speed across multiple web applications.
You don’t need particular experience to succeed in this role, but ideally you’ve got some experience either working or volunteering in the not-for-profit sector, so you do have some understanding of how NFPs work.
And you’re keen to learn more and gain a deeper insight into how organisations that “work for a better world” really work.
Finally, you’re passionate about our vision of a better world and would love to contribute to the success of our social enterprise.
