EthicalJobs.com.au is working to change the world, one job at a time.
We bridge the gap between Australians who want to “work for a better world” and the thousands of for-purpose organisations that tirelessly strive to create that better world.
As a successful, for-profit social enterprise and one of Australia’s top job-search sites for the not-for-profit sector and beyond, we support the work of more than 9,000 for-purpose organisations around the country, and have a passionate community of 300,000+ unique users visiting the site each month.
We also make regular donations to small organisations that are having a big social or environmental impact across Australia – we’ve donated over $1.8 million since 2009, and we’ve catalysed over $2 million in donations from the community on top of that.
We’ve consistently grown our overall impact for 15 years since we launched in 2009.
You’ll be joining a dedicated, passionate and successful team of 21 people who share a vision of a more equitable, just and sustainable world.
We work mostly remotely, but you have the option to work from our spacious office in Collingwood which has loads of natural light, high ceilings, standing desks, a large outdoor deck for lunch in the sun and drinks after work, and great food and coffee just around the corner.
This position is a shared, part-time (0.4 FTE) role, working either Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday, alongside our existing QA Coordinator, perfect for someone seeking flexible hours while delivering high-quality work.
As a QA Coordinator, you’ll be integral to ensuring the quality and stability of our platform for our many employer and jobseeker users every day. Working closely with our Head of Product, software engineers, our designer, and your fellow QA Coordinator, you'll plan, execute and refine both manual and automated testing strategies.
Your key responsibilities will include creating detailed test plans and test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria, conducting manual end-to-end testing of new features and performing regression tests to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected by new developments or code refactoring.
You’ll be responsible for identifying, documenting and tracking defects, and providing detailed feedback to developers and other stakeholders.
In partnership with the other part-time QA Coordinator, you'll continuously improve testing processes and identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
Part of your role will involve collaborating with the development team to enhance and maintain our current Cypress automated test suites, ensuring quality across multiple products used by employers, jobseekers, and internal teams.
You'll also participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies to stay aligned with the team’s progress and goals.
First, please note this is a part time (0.4 FTE) role, working either Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday so those hours will need to suit you.
You have a solid background in QA and a demonstrated history of manually testing web-based applications for both desktop and mobile platforms. As a friendly, capable, and reliable tester, you have experience working in Agile or Scrum environments where you closely collaborate with product owners, developers, and designers.
You thrive in fast-paced settings, dealing with quick iteration cycles and adapting to changing requirements, all while ensuring the release of high-quality products.
You are experienced in functional, regression, and exploratory testing, and have been responsible for creating detailed test plans, executing test cases, and logging defects.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools, such as Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence, is highly desirable. Experience with automated testing scripts (such as Cypress) for regression and end-to-end testing is also a plus.
You possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail, enabling you to create test plans that are clear and actionable, and to effectively communicate defects to the development team.
Finally, you're passionate about making a positive impact and excited to support the mission of EthicalJobs.com.au.
