Role purpose
Provide coordination support to the MEL plans of projects within EWB Australia’s Engineering Program.
Summary
EWB Australia is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Coordinator to support implementation of MEL in 20-30 projects across Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, and On Country within Australia. Project objectives range from product development to systems strengthening, and cover sectors such as WASH, agriculture, GEDSI, and climate change.
Since 2023, EWB Australia’s Engineering Program has launched a new Program Logic, MEL Framework, and refined reporting and learning processes. The role of the MEL Coordinator will be to ensure that projects within the Engineering Program are utilising these processes in an effective and timely manner.
This role does not have any direct reports but may require the management of a small team of remote volunteers/interns who support MEL or data visualisation.
You will have demonstrated success in and/or proven knowledge in:
Cross-cutting themes: Understand how cross-cutting issues such as gender, social inclusion, disability, and climate change intersect with project implementation and should be embedded in MEL processes
International development and/or for-purpose sector: Experience working in international community development in the Asia-Pacfic context and understanding of key opportunities and challenges faced by the sector, including knowledge of key stakeholders, influence networks, and common terminology. Specific experience that would be considered an asset are:
International field work, particularly in Cambodia, Timor-Leste, or Vanuatu
STEM fields, human-centred design, WASH, agriculture, GEDSI, and/or climate change
DFAT or ANCP-funded development projects
Communication skills: Able to effectively communicate information and data insights, both written and verbally, in a manner that engages and motivates a variety of audiences with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds
Learning culture: Value the importance of sharing and reflecting on project successes and challenges for collaborative decision-making and ongoing improvements
