Our opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Governance Support & Administration Officer to join our team at EWON. In this pivotal role, you will provide crucial administrative and governance support to the Company Secretary (who is also the General Manager, Governance, Awareness & Policy (GAP)) as well as administrative support to the Deputy Ombudsman.  

You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of governance activities, supporting Board and committee meetings, and assisting with compliance and reporting functions. This role is pivotal in managing complex administrative tasks and will directly contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of EWON’s governance and policy function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Company Secretary through coordinating the agenda and scheduling of EWON Board and subcommittee meetings, ensuring timely preparation and distribution of Board papers, taking minutes, and maintaining action and decision registers 
  • Provide secretariat support for the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group 
  • Organise logistics for Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM), including booking venues and coordinating video conferences 
  • Assist the Deputy Ombudsman by preparing reports, presentations, and organising internal and external meetings 
  • Manage the coordination of compliance-related duties, including ASIC and ACNC reporting timelines 
  • Provide administrative support across the GAP and Dispute Resolution Teams, including data collation, meeting coordination, and research 

To be successful in this role, you will have the below skills and experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience in an administrative role, ideally with governance or Board minute-taking experience (formal training in governance is highly desirable) 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated experience in organising and managing events, ensuring they run smoothly from start to finish 
  • Ability to manage competing tasks with high attention to detail and meet deadlines 
  • Experience using MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and CRMs or databases 
  • A proactive attitude, with the initiative to solve problems and manage stakeholder expectations
