Rev Bill Crews Foundation

WHO ARE WE?

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is one of Sydney’s most respected frontline charities, serving the community for nearly 40 years. Our mission is to tackle homelessness and poverty by providing essential services like food, social welfare, and education support to those in need.

Our Food Services Team is at the heart of this mission, delivering meals through our Loaves and Fishes Restaurant, Crews Café and Food Vans, making a difference in the lives of marginalised individuals.

THE ROLE

Do you know your way around an espresso machine? Can you craft café-style coffee that keeps people coming back for more? If you’re a barista with experience and a passion for helping others, we want you on our team!

We’re looking for a talented all-rounder Barista to join us on a casual basis at Crews Café, open daily from 7 am to 3 pm. In this role, you’ll create delicious coffee and beverages, serve our guests with a smile, and contribute to a cause that truly matters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting to the Café Coordinator, you’ll:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every guest feels welcomed.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages, snacks, and meals.
  • Handle cash and card payments with accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and other ad-hoc tasks as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment and brings:

  • Proven barista experience (certifications and latte art are a bonus!).
  • A Basic Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • A reliable, efficient, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to stand, bend and lift throughout your shift.
  • Empathy and understanding for individuals from marginalised backgrounds.

WHY JOIN US?

At The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation, we care about our team as much as the community we serve. We offer:

  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging benefits (up to $15,900 tax-free!).
  • Health and Wellbeing Program (WHEREFIT).
  • Convenient location near public transport or free off-street parking.
