About the team

The People and Culture team sits within the Strategy, People and Governance division. This Human Resources team provides advice and services across the organisation in work health and safety, talent, learning, workplace culture, people, and performance.

About the role

This crucial role supports the Manager in developing and implementing WHS systems, policies and programs to support our people in delivering services to vulnerable members of our community.

The role is varied and is responsible for assessing WHS issues and risks, managing workers compensation claims, supporting training and education of our employees, and ensuring innovative wellbeing initiatives are implemented proactively to improve outcomes.

About you

  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation, standards, workers compensation, wellbeing and risk management.
  • Effective communication skills with an ability to engage and consult across the business as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, organised, and logical with an ability to think outside the box to improve process and systems, to meet WHS obligations, and build on our organisational culture that supports our employees.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience working in a professional health and safety environment.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of WHS related legislation and applicable Codes of Practice and Standards
