Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician with allied health qualifications and relevant registration (i.e., with AHPRA, AASW, etc.) to join our dynamic team. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will play a pivotal role in providing individualised care. You will ensure the delivery of evidence-based interventions and comprehensive case management to consumers in the Goulburn-Mulwaree LGA for the newly established Goulburn Mental Health Hub, part of the Head to Health network. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough intake assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering therapeutic interventions, and monitoring progress towards treatment goals. Services will be offered both in-person through the Goulburn-Mulwaree LGA and via telehealth as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine the mental health needs of consumers across the lifespan.
  • Collaborate with consumers to develop personalised treatment plans based on evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy to address a range of mental health concerns.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health episodes.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews, evaluate treatment outcomes, and adjust intervention plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for clients.
  • Engage in case management activities, including referrals, advocacy, and coordination of services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with organisational policies and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or Counselling.
  • Registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
  • Proven experience in providing evidence-based intervention and case management in a mental health setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish therapeutic relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in utilising telehealth platforms for remote service delivery (desirable).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest research and best practices in mental health.
  • Current Working With Children's Check and National Criminal Check.
  • Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle to assist community-based work as needed.
