Legal assistant - position description
- Receipting funds paid into business and trust accounts
- Drafting forms for Department of Home Affairs including visa applications, Form 956s, Freedom of Information requests, appointment of representative forms
- Booking interpreters/translators and entering receipts into system
- Making and receiving some phone calls to clients/third parties
- Drafting email and letter correspondence
- Reviewing Departmental correspondence, diarising deadlines
- Drafting statements and evidence where required
- Lodging visa applications and uploading documents
- Preparing court books, bundles of authorities, affidavit and court template documents
- preparing bundles of annexures for the Administrative Review Tribunal/Department of Home Affairs
- Organising briefs of documents to be provided to counsel
- Drafting costs agreements
- Monitoring administrative inbox and actioning correspondence as required
- Working collaboratively with partners, lawyers and administrative staff
- Opening and closing files including entering relevant data into system

This is an ongoing full-time position. Part time will be considered for the right candidate. Salary is in accordance with the Legal Services Award [MA000116].
