About the Role

We're seeking a skilled and values-driven Project Officer to join our small team. This role leads the development and delivery of activities that enhance understanding, safety, and belonging for LGBTIQA+ forcibly displaced people specifically in multicultural communities across Australia.

You will develop online training resources, coordinate community forums, and lead community and stakeholder engagement.

This is a remote role with some occasional domestic travel, and hours can be negotiated between 21 and 28 hours per week, including flexible arrangements such as alternating weeks. You can be based in any city across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver online training modules and community education resources.
  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of community forums and project events.
  • Engage and support the Lived Experience Group and facilitate co-design processes.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with multicultural community leaders.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  1. Strong knowledge of issues affecting LGBTIQA+ forcibly displaced and/or multicultural communities.
  2. Demonstrated ability to apply antiracist and intersectional approaches across all aspects of your work.
  3. Excellent stakeholder engagement and community facilitation skills, including co-design, and communication across diverse communities.
  4. Proven experience coordinating and implementing projects in community and not-for-profit settings.
  5. Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, including documentation and reporting.
  6. Demonstrated ability to adapt to challenges and develop practical solutions during change implementation.
  7. Strong digital literacy, including content management tools, shared drives, and virtual collaboration platforms.

Highly Desirable

  1. Lived experience of displacement, migration, or being from an LGBTIQA+ or multicultural background.
  2. Experience in developing or supporting training or educational content.
  3. Knowledge of issues affecting LGBTIQA+ forcibly displaced people, including gender-based violence, workplace rights, and inclusion.
