Our small team are motivated to improve the lives of those living with mental illness, cognitive and/or intellectual disability. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Completed or studied towards a Certificate/Diploma in Mental Health, Disability, Community Services or similar.
  • Some prior experience (at least 6 months), lived or otherwise, supporting people with mental illness and/or disability.

You will need to have:

  • A commitment and passion to making a difference in individuals' lives.
  • Flexibility, patience, initiative and emotional resilience. Effective listening skills & an adaptable communication style.
  • A Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • A current NDIS Workers Screening
  • Your own car and drivers license.
  • Vaccination against Covid-19 as per NSW Health guidelines for Support Workers - Please note you will need to be fully vaccinated as per NSW mandate laws for Disability and Aged Care sectors.
  • A willingness to work day and night shifts including sleepovers and weekends, as negotiated.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • This position is working in a team to cover shifts to maintain 24/7 support. This will involve morning, afternoon and sleep over night shifts including weekends.
  • Meeting the individual needs according to an established behavioural support plan.
  • Providing accurate and timely case notes so that others can provide a consistent experience for the individual.
  • Working collaboratively with the team to ensure consistency in the support provided.
  • We assist & support people in their own homes to develop skills and abilities to handle day to day tasks. Our goal is to enable rather than do, to promote independence, development and confidence of the individuals.
  • Tasks will include cooking, cleaning, day to day organisation, transporting clients to and from appointments and assisting with community tasks such as grocery shopping etc.
