The role:
The Business Development and Innovation Lead is responsible for ensuring that the Avenue work program maintains sufficient active commercial partnerships for all participants at all hubs to have access to diverse work program opportunities. The Business Development and Innovation Lead must ensure that business partner relationships are initiated, developed and maintained and Avenue MicroEnterprise teams deliver services at a high standard and in line with commercial agreements.
The Business Development and Innovation Lead will oversee the strategic development and continuous improvement of the Avenue work program to ensure that the quality of the work opportunities available to Avenue team members is continuously improved and that the ambition to improve overall remuneration outcomes for each participant over time is pursued.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborating with Co Working Space Managers to ensure appropriate volumes of work is available for each Micro Enterprise Team.
- Conducting lead generation, engagement and onboarding of appropriate business partners to ensure that Avenue has sufficient active commercial agreements to meet the needs of the Avenue work program.
- Maintain positive relationships with micro-enterprise partnerships, ensuring their engagement and alignment to Avenue’s mission.
- Develop a strategy for engagement of long term partners who have the stakeholder and monetary resources to support the long term development of the scale, diversity and value of the Avenue work program.
- Work with Fighting Chance’s Finance team to reconcile participant remuneration totals and micro-enterprise team expenditure.
- Day to day partner Relationship Management alongside Team Coordinators and Co Working Space Managers.
- Internal Micro Enterprise process and administration support.
- Administration and Reporting to established partners.
- Maintain positive relationships with micro-enterprise partnerships, ensuring their engagement and alignment to Avenue’s mission.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant qualification and/or 1+ years previous experience in a similar role
- Experience with negotiating Service Agreements
- Project management and stakeholder engagement experience desired
- A strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively with partners, new business leads, staff and management
- Strong skills and experience using cloud based applications, e.g., Google Suite
- Able to assertively negotiate mutually beneficial relationships.
- Ability to develop and effectively document process and procedures
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Possess or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check
- Possess or be willing to obtain Provide First Aid/CPR (HLTAID003)
- Hold a NSW Drivers Licence
- Able to travel to Avenue Hubs in Sydney and Newcastle
- Willingness to work at events on weekends and evenings on occasion
