Our team are highly trained and compassionate professionals that deliver personalised care plans that address our clients physical, emotional and social well-being needs.
The role
- Due to growth in participant numbers, we’re looking for our next few team members. Could this be you?
- Are you passionate about client centred health care?
- Do you have experience in the disability sector, supporting participants with varying needs?
- Do you enjoy working at the higher acuity end of support work, assisting with wound care, medications, using mobility equipment, navigating complex physical and/or high intensity behaviours with compassion?
- No two clients are the same, so we match our team members to participants based on how we assess you will deliver our promise of a trusting partnership to our clients families.
What you’ll be doing
Acknowledging that every shift is different, this is the general span of activities:
- Assisting in Personal Hygiene and Dressing: Provide compassionate assistance with personal hygiene routines and dressing, promoting dignity and independence.
- Domestic Duties: Perform domestic duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming environment for our participants.
- Administering Medications: Safely administer medications to our participants as prescribed, ensuring compliance with medication schedules and protocols.
- Assisting with Mobility Using Hoists and Slide Sheets: Utilise specialised equipment to transfer individuals safely, providing gentle assistance with mobility and positioning.
- Providing Companionship and Emotional Support: Offer companionship, friendship, and emotional support to our participants, brightening their day with your warm presence and genuine care.
- Supporting Complex Physical and High-Intensity Behavioural Care: Provide calm, skilled support in managing complex physical needs and high-intensity behaviours, ensuring participant safety and wellbeing while maintaining a respectful and person-centred approach.
- Arranging Social Activities: Plan and organise fun and engaging social activities for our participants, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Transporting participants to appointments.
The fine print:
We’re not going to sugar coat it, some shifts can be long and we’re looking for team members who take great pride in leaving their shift having made the client’s environment tidier, safer, cleaner, more enjoyable. Our team look for things to do; where domestic duties are completed; we provide them with learning opportunities and things to do remotely if they’re on a slow or late shift.
Equally, some shifts can be challenging and rewarding; at times our team benefit from our Employee Assistance Program and/or debriefs – we’re qualified nurses and we take great care for each of our team members. You are our most important asset.
We regularly bring the team together and have popular Health & Wellbeing and Reward and Recognition programs in place.
We also encourage our team members to take up our training offering, to continually build and expand their skills.
