ABOUT FOODFILLED
FoodFilled is a Victoria-based food rescue charity dedicated to addressing food waste and hunger. We partner with food retailers of all sizes to rescue surplus, excess, and unsold edible food that would otherwise be wasted and deliver it to organisations in need. Our goal is to fill the gaps left by larger food rescue and relief efforts, ensuring that no local food retailer or charity is overlooked. Our mission blends humanitarian aid with environmental stewardship, aiming to drive systemic change through a circular economy while fighting climate change by minimising food waste.
As part of our expansion, we’re on the hunt for a dynamic and socially conscious leader to join us as our Head of Operations to start early 2025.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Operations at FoodFilled is a pivotal leadership role dedicated to driving the organisation’s growth and expanding its impact, ensuring all efforts align with our mission to combat food waste and food insecurity.
The role involves managing daily operations & refining operational systems, relationship management, including with key donors and high-level partnership development.
As a key representative and spokesperson, the Head of Operations will advocate for FoodFilled in public forums, with partners, and within the broader community. This role demands an assertive leader committed to advancing FoodFilled to new levels of success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily operations & manage the operations team, ensuring cohesive teamwork and alignment with FoodFilled’s mission.
- Lead initiatives to drive organisational growth, expanding FoodFilled’s reach and impact in the community.
- Implement and refine operational strategies to improve efficiency, scalability, and overall effectiveness, positioning FoodFilled for long-term success and sustainability.
- Strategic Relationship Management through crafting and employing strategic communication to maintain and bolster existing retailer relationships, ensuring alignment and mutual benefit.
- Partnership development and expansion, establishing new high level relationships across all functions to increase impact.
- Scope out fundraising opportunities, including fostering existing donor relationships and establishing new ones to support FoodFilled’s financial sustainability.
- Serve as a spokesperson, advocating for FoodFilled in public and with partners.
- Work closely with the CEO on organisational development and strategy implementation, to generate new opportunities.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA / EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Prior experience in a leadership role
- Prior experience working in not-for-profit, charity or community (preferred)
- Prior experience in donor management or fundraising (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent in Business/Commerce, Management, Law, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- This position will likely involve hybrid working conditions, part remote and part in office. There may be instances when driving will be required.
