Do you want to develop the game at a grassroots level while using it as a tool for positive social change?

We’re offering an exciting joint role with Football West and Football Futures Foundation to deliver inclusive football programs across the Kimberley region. This role blends football development and community engagement, allowing you to work across both organisations to:

  • Support grassroots football growth by delivering training, development programs, and club engagement initiatives.
  • Use football as a tool for social impact, working with diverse and priority communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, people with disabilities, and those experiencing social disadvantage.
  • Engage with schools, clubs, and local organisations to increase participation, build capacity, and create pathways for ongoing involvement.

The role is flexible and can be tailored based on your skills and experience. It offers room for growth, including coaching development and leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver football programs across schools, clubs, and communities.
  • Support Football West’s grassroots football development in the Kimberley.
  • Deliver social impact programs through Football Futures Foundation, using football to promote inclusion, wellbeing, and life skills.
  • Engage with Aboriginal communities, schools, and local organisations to foster participation and sustainable engagement.
  • Support program setup, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Build partnerships and relationships with local football clubs and community groups.
  • (For senior applicants) Mentor junior coaches and volunteers, and assist in strategic program development.

About You

You’re someone who is:

  • Passionate about football development and community impact.
  • Comfortable working in remote and regional settings.
  • A strong communicator who builds relationships easily.
  • Creative and adaptable, able to tailor football programs to suit diverse participants.
  • Excited about working in a culturally diverse environment, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Keen to learn, grow, and develop leadership skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • (Preferred but Not Essential):
    • Coaching Certification (Minimum Level 1 Football Coaching Course).
    • Certificate III (or above) in Community Services, Sports Management, Youth Work, or Education OR relevant lived experience.
    • Experience in coaching, sports development, or community engagement.
    • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
    • Working with Children Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Desirable:
    • Experience working in regional WA, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
    • Understanding of inclusive sports coaching and working with people of all abilities.
    • Experience with stakeholder engagement & program coordination.
    • Willingness to travel within the Kimberley region.
