Forensicare provides a detailed reception mental health screening assessment for every prisoner received into custody at the Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) in Spencer Street West Melbourne; outpatient clinics to mentally ill prisoners within the prison; a 16 bed Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) which provides initial assessment and treatment to seriously mentally ill prisoners; an after- hours mental health crisis intervention service and consultancy and training services for prison and service staff on the treatment and management of male prisoners with mental health issues.
Ward Clerks at Melbourne Assessment Prison provide high quality administrative support to the multi-disciplinary teams working within the service.
Duties of the role include:
This position also works in the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), in addition to other MAP administrative duties with the team in medical records.
The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days a week plus 1 Saturday a month (4 hrs).
You are highly organised and efficient, with experience providing administrative support in a health or mental health setting. You have excellent IT skills, proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and a working knowledge of RAPID (statewide mental health database).
You have the ability to relate sensitively and professionally with patients and can work with limited supervision. You are a good communicator and work effectively in a team.
