Fountain Gate Primary School is located in the south-eastern suburbs, approximately 45 kms from the Melbourne CBD. A wide range of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds is represented in the student body. Community Hub Leader will coordinate development of a Community Hub embedded at Fountain Gate Primary School to engage migrant and refugee families in all aspects of school and community life.

At present the buildings consist of a main administration/staff/library core, fourteen permanent classrooms, two galleries (four classrooms surrounding a central learning area) and six portables. The school has a full size gymnasium. The school is proud to run a very active Community Hub that promotes partnerships both within and the broader community. The grounds are large, attractive and well maintained.
The school grounds include a wide variety of playground facilities. We have a large oval, a soccer pitch, two basketball courts, and large shaded play areas for both active and passive play. The school takes pride in our grounds and takes great care to ensure gardens and playing spaces are well maintained. The school is fortunate to have an open grassed public area available at the back of the school which is used for supervised events such as cross country and lunchtime sports programs.
The school population comprises of 484 students. Our workforce consists of 2.0 Principal class, 2.0 Leading Teachers, 2.0 Learning Specialist, 26.46 Teaching staff, 6.51 Integration staff, 3.0 Office staff, 2.36 Tutors (TLI), 1.0 ICT support, 2.0 Buildings and Grounds, 0.8 Community Hub Leader, 0.8 First Aid officer, 0.51 Canteen Manager, 0.8 Social Worker, 0.4 Attendance Officer, 1.0 Library Support. The students are organised in year level classes, with composite classes where necessary.
Literacy, Numeracy, and student wellbeing skills are given a high priority. We also place importance on the nurturing of cultural, social, creative, physical and personal development of all members of our school community. All areas of the school have access to up-to-date computer technology with internet access. Specialist areas include Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts/Drama and STEM.
Parent involvement is highly valued at Fountain Gate Primary School. We have a commitment to a strong home-school partnership and welcome parent involvement in school activities. Fundraising activities focus on building social interactions with parents. Parents are invited to attend our fortnightly Friday afternoon assemblies and many special events throughout the year. Parents are very active on School Council.
