Free to Feed is a non-profit social enterprise fostering social connection for people of refugee backgrounds.I We do this through our transformative and trauma-informed social impact programs that celebrate our Program Participant's diverse cultures, talents and skills through shared food experiences and storytelling in safe and inclusive spaces.

Under our roof and around our shared tables, our Program Participants invite connection through storytelling through our Cooking Experiences, Cultural Events and Catered Feasts. We bring people together for a beautiful exchange of stories, cultural knowledge and personal hopes and ideas.

Purpose of Position

The Cooking Experiences Producer leads the Experiences team to build on and unlock the impact of Free to Feed’s Community Cooking Experiences (CCEs) and Team Cooking Experiences (TCEs) for participants and the broader Melbourne/Naarm community. This role ensures these Experiences are mission-aligned, high-quality, and foster social connection through food, storytelling, and hospitality.

It also plays a vital role to ensure that the Experiences team is an inclusive, supportive workplace for participants in the Leadership, Empowerment and Communications (LEC) Program.

The role has the following focus areas:

• Experiences Quality & Impact: Ensure CCEs and TCEs align with Free to Feed’s mission, delivering outstanding hospitality and meaningful social connection.

• Team Leadership: Support and coach Cooking Instructors, Hosts, and Volunteers to build a cohesive, inclusive team.

• LEC Program Support: help to prepare LEC participants for their Cooking Instructor roles, collaborating with the LEC Program Manager to develop skills and confidence.
