As Campaign Co-ordinator you will work with the Campaign Manager to develop organising and campaign strategies in finance sector organisations. You will manage team of organisers to implement the strategy to build power with our members.
Your responsibilities will be:
1. Contribute to campaign strategies and plans
- Work with the Campaign Manager to develop, plan and execute national campaigns to build power for our members through Union growth, member engagement and activism. Our campaign work ranges from sector-wide (like our fight to win paid vaccination leave for 220,000 finance workers), to enterprise campaigns on issues like enterprise bargaining and wage theft.
- Track and measure the team’s execution of our campaigns to ensure we’re meeting our Union’s goals. Work with each team member to ensure that they are able to achieve their campaign goal, and adjust tactics as needed. We are outcome-focused with a fail fast, learn fast culture.
- Build strong relationships with our members and leaders across the finance sector. We are a member-led Union and our members are engaged in and lead all of our Union’s work. Be responsible for and overseeing the development of our leaders to be able to carry out this critical work.
2. Develop and lead a high performing team
- Develop and lead a national team of organisers and digital campaigners to build power as part of our campaigns. We form multidisciplinary teams to meet our campaign goals, so you will also lead industrial, admin and communications people when they come into our campaign teams. You will be skilled in developing organising capacity across our people.
- Establish goals and measures for organisers and digital campaigners and be responsible for helping all team members to meet their goals. This will involve assisting organisers to break down national campaign plans to their individual objectives and then develop strategies to meet them.
- Oversee the implementation and co-ordination of team activities with a focus on working in an innovative and agile way. You will ensure that we have our people allocated to the most strategic work.
- We have diverse teams with a range of backgrounds, so a key element of this role is the ability to inspire our team to make their best contribution. You will focus on fostering a supportive team culture where sharing best practice is encouraged and embed a culture of continuous learning.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working for or being actively involved in a trade union or similar not for profit organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of the principles and techniques of organising, campaigning, building power, engaging members and mobilising them to take action.
- Demonstrated management experience including working with team members to achieve their goals including the ability to develop, implement, coordinate, critically analyse and evaluate campaign plans.
- Demonstrated development skills with experience in building organising and campaigning capacity with both Organisers and Leaders of the union.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for trade unionism and/or social justice.
Salary
The salary for this role will depend on experience. We would encourage people with salary expectation around $113,000 to apply.
