JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES

This is a newly created role as part of Fusion’s organisational development in NSW. It will require working closely with the NSW General Manager, Centre Leaders and others on the Fusion National team.

To assist the work of this role and across all services and programs Fusion is introducing a new HRIMS system. While the position will be located in Richmond NSW, the role will spread across all Sydney centres.

The Position of Human Resources Manager has been created to support the office of the General Manager to implement best practice human resources across the Sydney centres for between 50 – 80 Staff and Volunteers.

The Human Resource Manager – Sydney Community Services objectives are to:

  • Maintain the up-to-date records of personnel files (Staff and Volunteers) of staff across Sydney centres for all payroll, child safety and contractual compliance requirements.
  • Work with management in dealing with staff disciplinary action, complaints and grievances, staff wellbeing and upholding strong Work Health Safety.
  • Preparing job descriptions, advertising vacant positions, and managing the employment process.
  • Implementing systematic staff development procedures.
  • All staff communications related to matters effecting their performance.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Human Resource Manager

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organisation's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to, management, and other staff when complex, specialised, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyses trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organisation attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with National, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
