The Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) is a not-for-profit organisation providing pound, shelter and veterinary services to the Geelong region. The Opportunity

Op Shop Volunteers play a key role in supporting the animal welfare work of the Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS). GAWS’ aim for financial sustainability and excellent reputation in the community is enhanced by the role of the volunteers and Op Shops and the communities they service. Volunteers involved in the GAWS Op Shops receive, sort, price and sell goods following written procedures, open and close the facility and communicate with the Volunteer Coordinator.

The Op Shops are located on Vines Road and Pakington Street. Flexible volunteering options are available, onboarding will be provided.

Your Profile

To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent customer service and focus on providing a quality experience for shoppers
  • The ability to work within a team successfully and with different personalities
  • The ability to promote and demonstrate GAWS values and positive behaviours in all responsibilities related to the role
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Friendly manners

The successful applicant for this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment Police Check.
