Primary Objective:
As the CDP GEBIE Next Generation Youth Services Facilitator you will engage Groote Eylandt Youth on the GEBIE CDP caseload to promote participation through delivery of activities and case management services. You will be energetic and focussed on building the capacity of male Youth under 24 through the delivery of activities/initiatives tailored to Anindilyakwa Youth. GEBIE Next Gen provides Youth with vocational and non-vocational training and workshops to build and develop skills supporting; individual capacity building, participation in community activities/sports, building on cultural knowledge and participation in cultural activities/events, access to services and resources that promote wellbeing and self-determination enabling youth access to and retention of meaningful employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Role model positive behaviour, integrity and cultural respect at all times.
- Work as part of a holistic service delivery model in a transparent and positive way with the CDP team.
- Deliver targeted CDP services to male Youth on the GEBIE CDP caseload to prepare for work while supporting participant’s connection to body, mind, kinship and culture.
- Plan, facilitate and supervise CDP activities that support and build confidence while addressing vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment and participation .
- Report writing , planning activities and events, case noting and understanding of accountability to respective funding bodies to demonstrate and evidence contractual service delivery obligations.
- Organise and facilitate key Youth events, including participation in sport, sports competitions, entertainment, on-country activities and off Eylandt cultural immersion trips.
- Work with Youth and the broader CDP Team , external stakeholders to celebrate and acknowledge key dates including: Youth Week, NAIDOC week, Reconciliation Week and culturally significant dates with guidance from community.
- Actively broker, facilitate all vocational and non-vocational training and development opportunities for Youth on the CDP caseload
- Supervise and support the professional development of a female junior mentor trainee working to deliver services to participants.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience working with vulnerable Youth and an awareness and understanding of issues affecting First Nations Youth in Australia.
- Demonstrate commitment, reliability in a team setting, and work to maintain and contribute to a team culture that is results driven for the communities in which we provide services.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering activities to support youth build on their capacity and confidence addressing vocational and non-vocational barriers to participation and employment
- Demonstrated experience delivering case management services with extensive understanding of working with external stakeholders to ensure referrals, access to services and mobilisation of resources.
- Demonstrated high level of cross-cultural awareness to ensure effective participation in a cross-cultural workplace.
- Exhibit punctuality, time management and sound communication skills communication in a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience in report writing , planning activities and events, case noting and understanding of accountability to respective funding bodies to demonstrate and evidence contractual service delivery obligations.
Additional Essential Requirements
- Employment GEBIE CDP is subject to a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence with ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
- Degree or qualifications in Youth Work or Social Work will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience living and/or working in a remote First Nations community within Australia.
- Experience in posting and managing Social Media posts for GEBIE NEXT GEN
- Experience and skills to operate a Drone

Remuneration for the role of GEBIE Next Generation Youth Activities Supervisor is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
